Eastover Retreat Center: Everyone involved with the Center has worked here at some point (in fact, some of us still are working there) This is a wonderful place that we all love. College Run Farms: A wonderful "pick your own" farm located just down the road from us. They have different seasonal choices: strawberries, blueberries, sweet corn, melons, squash, zuchinni and more. Buying here supports local business, and you know what you are getting and where it came from. Everyone wins. So check it out if you are in town. Jesus for President: A book by Shane Claiborne that has been an inspiration for us. International Justice Mission: is a human rights organization that rescues victims of violence, sexual exploitation, slavery and oppression. World Vision: is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. Bead For Life: Women in Uganda make paper beads that are sold around the world. The money goes directly back to them and their communities to help them improve their lives. The Center recently hosted a Bead for Life event, and we recommend that you check them out. Christian Simple Living: a compassionate, responsible way of living, freeing people from consumer culture and building an environmentally, economically sustainable world.
